Luke Mossey – JG Speedfit Kawasaki – took a double victory for the second round of the MCE British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch Indy on Monday.
The 24 year old started 3rd on the grid but saw an opportunity when team-mate Leon Haslam ran wide. James Ellison-aboard his McAMS Yamaha did his best to close the gap in the early stages of the 30 lap race but was unsuccessful. Ellison then crashed out at Druids which allowed Mossey to take the lead. Haslam soon came under pressure from Christian Iddon who moved into third with Shane Byrne battling with both Haslam and Iddon in the closing stages of the race. With Mossey taking the win, Haslam managed to secure 2nd place and Iddon managed 3rd with Byrne missing out on the rostrum.
Honda rider Dan Linfoot showed improvement and took 5th place, with his team-mate Jason O’Halloran taking 7th ahead of both Michael Laverty and Peter Hickman.
